Developer Sandfall Interactive recently announced that the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 soundtrack has climbed to the top of Billboard album charts in the weeks following its release. As the highly anticipated turn-based RPG gains traction among fans, its music has emerged as a standout feature, particularly highlighted in social media discussions about Sandfall’s debut title. This acclaim is now mirrored in Billboard rankings.

Visiting the Billboard website reveals that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 currently leads both the Classical Albums and Classical Crossover Albums charts. Additionally, the soundtrack has made waves at position 13 on the Official Soundtrack Album chart and 31 on the Official Album Download chart. Clearly, players are drawn not only to the narrative and gameplay but also to its enchanting musical backdrop.

The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 soundtrack features over 150 tracks, many of which have amassed hundreds of thousands of streams on platforms like Spotify. Among them, the track Lumière stands out, boasting nearly 1.9 million views on YouTube and slightly over 1.9 million streams on Spotify.

Achieving such resonance with music enthusiasts is notable, especially given that the soundtrack was crafted by composer Lorien Testard, who was discovered on SoundCloud, as Sandfall mentioned in an interview with the BBC.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S (as well as Game Pass) on April 24, 2025, just under two weeks ago. In that short time, it surpassed 2 million copies sold, marking a significant success for Sandfall. Even French President Emmanuel Macron offered his congratulations on the game’s impressive reception.
