The updates kick off in early May with The Works of Luis Frois, the first of several free story add-ons. Accompanying this will be a Codex update and quality-of-life enhancements, including significant parkour improvements and a photo mode update scheduled for June. Ubisoft emphasizes its commitment to responding to community feedback, with community developer Daniel St. Germain stating, "Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released." Regular title updates will include impactful additions and changes based on player input, along with ongoing bug fixes to enhance the experience across all platforms.
June will see the release of another free story drop, along with more challenging difficulty settings, gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and a feature allowing players to choose whether to keep headgear on or off during cutscenes. These updates cater to player requests and set the stage for even more features like new game+ support, additional story content, and special collaborations expected later in the year.
The highlight of the post-launch roadmap is the first major DLC expansion, Claws of Awaji, set to release later in 2025. This expansion will introduce new content, including the Bo staff weapon and a new region for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to explore, spanning a 10-hour journey. While pricing details are pending, those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows will receive this expansion for free.
