Fans of the iconic 1995 film *Clueless* are in for a treat as Alicia Silverstone is set to reprise her beloved role as Cher Horowitz in an upcoming sequel series on Peacock. The project, which is currently in development, promises to continue the story from where the original movie left off, although specific plot details are still under wraps.
This new series marks a fresh attempt by Peacock to expand the *Clueless* universe, distinguishing itself from a previously planned spin-off announced in 2020. The creative team behind this exciting revival includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original *Gossip Girl* series and its reboot. They will be joined by Jordan Weiss in writing the series, and all three will serve as executive producers alongside Amy Heckerling, the writer-director of the original film, and Robert Lawrence, the original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are also on board to produce the series.
This isn't the first time *Clueless* has ventured into television. From 1996 to 1999, a TV adaptation aired on ABC and UPN, starring Rachel Blanchard as Cher instead of Silverstone. However, Silverstone herself has shown recent interest in returning to her iconic role, having reprised it for a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten.
