Marmalade Game Studio has just released the 2016 Suspects Pack for the digital version of Clue, also known as Cluedo. If you're a fan of this classic murder-mystery game, you're in for a treat as you can now step into the shoes of some of the iconic characters from the 2016 edition.
Who Are the 2016 Clue aka Cluedo Suspects?
The pack includes beloved characters like Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr. Orchid, and Mrs. Peacock. This new addition focuses solely on these characters, allowing you to insert them into any scenario you desire without being bound to specific crime scenes or case files. The flexibility of the game lets you choose your nostalgic favorite and mix them with the newer 2023 cast for a unique gameplay experience.
The fanbase of the 2016 version has been vocal about their desire to see these characters return, particularly since the introduction of the more modern 2023 characters. It's great to see that Marmalade Game Studio has listened to the community and brought back these beloved figures.
There’s More Coming to the Game!
In addition to the 2016 Suspects Pack, Clue aka Cluedo is introducing a new mode called the Retro Rules Set. This mode, which is free to all players, harks back to the original 1949 rules of the game. It brings back nostalgic mechanics that alter how players move and make accusations. For instance, tokens start at designated spots on the board, with Miss Scarlet making the first move, unless she's absent, in which case Colonel Mustard takes the lead.
In this mode, you must be in a room to make an accusation, and Clue Cards are removed entirely. Additionally, you cannot move through squares occupied by other players, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay.
