The FreeStyle LibreLink app is fully approved for use with both the FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors. With this app, monitoring your glucose levels becomes as simple as scanning your sensor with your smartphone. For those using the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor, you can benefit from automatic glucose readings updated every minute, along with alarms that alert you to low or high blood sugar levels [1][2].
Here’s what you can do with the FreeStyle LibreLink app:
- View your current glucose result, trend arrow, and glucose history
- Receive low or high glucose alarms with FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors [2]
- Access reports detailing time spent in target range and daily trends
- Share your data, with your consent, with your doctor and family [3]
Compatibility with Smartphones
The compatibility of the FreeStyle LibreLink app can vary depending on your phone and operating system. For a comprehensive list of compatible devices, please visit http://FreeStyleLibre.com.
Using Your App and Reader with the Same Sensor
When using the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor, alarms can be set on either your FreeStyle Libre 2 player or your phone, but not on both simultaneously. To receive alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor with the app. Conversely, to receive alarms on your reader, start the sensor with your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. Once started with the reader, you can still scan the sensor with your phone.
Important note: The app and the reader do not share data. To ensure you have all your data reflected in your reports, scan your sensor with the same device every 8 hours. You can upload and view data from all your devices on LibreView.com.
