Boerenbridge, also known as Chinese Pooping in Flanders, is a captivating card game that combines strategy and prediction. The goal is to accurately forecast the number of tricks you can win in each round, making it a thrilling test of skill and foresight.
How to Play
Objective: The aim is to predict and achieve the number of tricks you can win in a round.
Game Setup: The game begins with the dealer distributing a set number of cards to each player. The number of cards dealt increases with each round, starting from one card in the first round, two in the second, and so on, up to a maximum determined by the number of players. For example, with five players, the maximum number of cards dealt per player is ten. After reaching the maximum, the number of cards dealt decreases back to one card per player in the final round.
Bidding: Starting with the player to the left of the dealer, each player announces the number of tricks they expect to win. The highest bidder gets to choose the trump suit for that round. Importantly, the dealer, who bids last, must ensure that the total number of tricks bid by all players does not equal the total number of cards dealt in that round. For instance, if seven cards are dealt in a round and the first three players bid 0, 3, and 2 tricks respectively, the dealer cannot bid 2 tricks because that would make the total equal to 7 (0 + 3 + 2 + 2 = 7).
Scoring: Points are awarded based on how accurately players predict their tricks. The player with the highest total points at the end of the final round wins the game.
