Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025, and congratulations on making it through another complete rotation around our giant fiery gas ball, the sun. The start of a new year is the perfect time to look forward to what exciting games are on the horizon. Here are the biggest game releases of 2025 that we know about so far!

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins
On January 17, Tecmo Koei's flagship musou series makes a grand return with Dynasty Warriors: Origins, its first full-fledged entry since 2018. This game will leverage current-gen hardware to flood your screen with enemies you can plow through while shouting the iconic battlecry, "DIE, NASTY WARRIORS!" It'll be available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.

Sniper Elite: Resistance
If you prefer long-distance combat, on January 30, Sniper Elite: Resistance continues the beloved series known for its precise sniping and, yes, its infamous Nazi castration scenes. This latest installment sticks closely to the successful formula, which is hard to complain about when it involves shooting fascists in their private parts. It's available on all Xbox and PlayStation consoles, plus PC.

February 2025

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? No, it's Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a continuation of the immersive historical RPG that picks up the adventures of Henry of Skalitz. Launching on February 11 for current-gen consoles and PC.

Sid Meier’s Civilization 7
Also launching on February 11, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 needs little introduction. It's available on virtually all platforms, including Linux, but not mobile—yet.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Avowed
On February 18, Obsidian's Avowed comes to Xbox Series consoles and PC. Set in the same universe as the Pillars of Eternity games, this first-person action RPG promises a focused experience similar in scope to The Outer Worlds, which is great news for those who struggle to finish long games.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
