Top 5 Disastrous Video Game Movie Adaptations

The video game movie genre has been notorious for its share of disappointments. Classics like the 1993 film "Super Mario Bros." and the 1997 release "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" have become infamous for their inability to capture the essence of their beloved source material. However, recent efforts such as the "Sonic the Hedgehog" series and "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" have shown that Hollywood is starting to get it right. Despite these improvements, some films continue to fall short, with "Borderlands" being a prime example.

Hollywood's persistence is commendable, and while the bar has been set quite low, it's challenging to produce anything worse than some of the genre's most notorious flops.
