If you're among the many who have recently ventured into a cinema to watch A Minecraft Movie, you'll likely remember Jack Black's short but sweet song celebrating the "lava chicken" moment around halfway through the film. In the movie, Black, who plays the iconic character Steve, sings a song titled "Lava Chicken" as Jason Momoa and other characters watch a chicken being cooked by falling lava. Despite its brief duration of just 34 seconds, the song has quickly gone viral across social media platforms.

Remarkably, "Lava Chicken" has debuted at No. 21 on the UK's official chart, setting a record as the shortest song ever to chart. The UK's digital entertainment and retail association, ERA, noted that "Streaming + virality are reshaping hits," highlighting the impact of digital platforms on music popularity.

PlayJack Black is no stranger to viral video game songs. His performance of "Peaches," a 95-second romantic ode to Princess Peach from *The Super Mario Bros. Movie*, which he both sang and co-wrote, made it onto the Billboard Hot 100. This marked the first time a song from Black's solo career landed on the chart, following his earlier debut at No. 78 with "The Pick of Destiny" in 2006 as part of Tenacious D.

Other notably short songs that have charted include the 64-second "Spider Pig" from the 2007 Simpsons Movie and Liam Lynch's 2002 punk hit "United States of Whatever," which clocks in at 86 seconds.

"Lava Chicken" isn't the only element from A Minecraft Movie to capture widespread attention. Clips of enthusiastic cinemagoers have spread like wildfire on platforms like TikTok, with some even bringing live chickens to screenings of the film.
