Hearthstone is gearing up for an exciting Year of the Raptor in 2025, filled with surprises, innovative gameplay, and fresh features. The year promises a triple dose of expansions, Mini-Sets, and Battlegrounds seasons, all set to be released soon. The Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, which received a fantastic response, has Blizzard eager to maintain the momentum throughout the year. They've even provided a roadmap to give players a glimpse into what's coming.
What Does the Year of the Raptor Bring to Hearthstone?
One of the most anticipated updates is for Arena, which has been in development since last year and is now ready to launch. This refresh aims to attract a new generation of players to this longstanding game mode.
Cosmetics are also getting an upgrade with new Mythic skins, Signature cards, and an exciting new addition: Pets. These little companions will be part of a new cosmetic acquisition system, though Blizzard is keeping the details under wraps for now.
The Year of the Raptor officially begins with the first expansion, "Into the Emerald Dream." Card reveals are set to start next week, and an in-game celebration is already underway. Players can earn rewards such as The Great Dark Beyond Epic cards, packs from the new expansion, and a Raptor Herald card by completing the Event Track.

What Else Is Coming?
Alongside the expansion, a new evolving game board is being introduced. The Year of the Raptor board will remain in Hearthstone for the entire year, receiving visual and audio updates with each expansion.
Additionally, the Core Set is getting a refresh, with some classic cards returning with tweaks, and new cards being added to the mix. With so much on the horizon, it might be the perfect time to dive back into Hearthstone. You can download it from the Google Play Store if you haven't already.
