Just yesterday, Final Fantasy 16’s Naoki Yoshida politely requested fans to avoid creating "offensive or inappropriate" modifications on PC. However, modifications appear to be the least of their concerns, as even the most potent graphics cards seem to be struggling to meet Final Fantasy 16’s PC demands. While PC gamers excitedly anticipated experiencing the game in its full graphical splendor at 4K resolution and 60 fps, recent benchmarks suggest this may be unattainable even with the top-tier NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics card.

According to John Papadopoulos of DSOGaming, maintaining a steady 60 fps at native 4K resolution with maximum settings seems challenging for Final Fantasy 16 on PC. This is unexpected news given the RTX 4090 is among the most potent consumer graphics cards available.

However, a positive outlook exists for PC players. Activating DLSS 3 Frame Generation with DLAA can supposedly increase frame rates above 80 fps consistently. DLSS 3 is a novel NVIDIA technology using AI to generate extra frames, resulting in smoother gameplay. DLAA, conversely, is an anti-aliasing method enhancing image quality without significantly compromising performance compared to conventional anti-aliasing techniques.

Final Fantasy 16 initially launched on PlayStation 5 over a year ago, but it finally arrived on PC yesterday, September 17. The game’s Complete Edition comprises the base game and its two story expansions, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide.
