Camper Waits Outside San Francisco Nintendo Store for Switch 2 Before It Opens

by Hunter May 01,2025

The excitement for the Nintendo Switch 2 is palpable, with the Nintendo Store in San Francisco becoming the latest hotspot for eager fans, even though it won't open its doors until May 15. YouTuber Super Cafe has taken his enthusiasm to the next level by flying over 800 miles to San Francisco and setting up camp outside the store. His goal? To be the first in line on the west coast for both the store's opening and the release of the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.

In a video released on April 8, Super Cafe shared his journey and plans to camp out for the next two months. Despite only recently moving into his apartment, he's willing to make what he admits is a "terrible financial decision" to be part of this unique experience. "I've only lived in my apartment for two months. I like, just moved out," he stated. "Terrible financial decision on my end. Whatever, who cares."

Super Cafe's dedication mirrors that of another YouTube content creator camping out at the New York store for the same console. While Super Cafe is mostly camping solo, he's open to connecting with others interested in joining the wait at the San Francisco location. He plans to address logistics such as accommodations, food, and showers in a future Q&A.

With dedicated fans like Super Cafe at both coastal Nintendo stores, it remains to be seen if this will inspire others to follow suit.
